Some of the best space fighting found in any game happens right here in Empire at War. Space Skirmish: This is the mode where most people will say this game accells. How starting units are chosen or starting buildings is still not completely clear yet. There is less information on this mode of play since it was not included in the demo. Everything from Tanks and Infantry to AT-AT Walkers and TIE Bomber runs can be used on land battles. Each player will use their land units to commence battle on a planet for control over it. Land Skirmish: This is basically what it sounds like. It is very unusual compaired to most RTS Games. I might upload some I take from the demo later if I get time.Īh, here's a fun part where Empire at War really excells. That does not happen in-game, but I can't find any screenshots without that as everyone knows the same screenshots always circle the web haha.

Please note that for some reason, these guys didn't upload them at full quality, that is why some graining appears around the different shading areas. Put away that rock cd you always listen to while gaming, this will be a game to play with the volume cranked. Truly amazing, they did a great job on the sounds and music in this game. There is not much laser gun fire sound when in normal viewing mode, but switch into cinematic view and it's all over the place. All of the old sounds and music from the original movies are in this game.

Something about all of those things wrapped into one just sends chills up the spine. There isn't quite anything like the old Star Wars soundtrack and the noise of the laser guns firing and the TIE Fighters zipping by. It doesn't get much better then this, folks. So in my opinion, the graphics are right where they should be not too much to take a new CPU, but good enough to look realistic. It runs much smoother because of the lower demand on your system and in general it is a much better game because of it. On the flip side, the lower graphics mean that more systems can support the game. However, from a playing perspective from far back, they look perfectly fine.

Zoomed up close, the AT-ST's are really just detailed boxes walking around, with some guns sticking out the front. When you change the game to Cinematic View (more about that later), you can really tell that the graphics do leave a bit of room to be desired. On one side, the graphics are pretty good, although not as great as some RTS games that just came out (such as Age of Empires III).

The graphics in this game are a double-headed dragon. Will the Rebels break the Empire's grasp on the Galaxy and return peace once again, just like in the movie? Or will you create a new ending, casting the Galaxy in an eternal shadow by taking the Empire straight to victory? Each move you make and unit you build will change the balance of the Universe forever. However, the Rebels are fronting a strong defense. The Empire has gained power behind the leadings of Emperor Palpatine and his apprentice Lord Vader. Star Wars: Empire at War takes place at the beginning of Episode IV of the movies. Players can easily manage every aspect of a galactic battle for the Star Wars universe, from feeling a grunt eating the dust in a chaotic ground war, to guiding the armies massing around him, to managing the fleet gathering above him in space, to a planet by planet assault across the galaxy.
